There are times when vintage lenses make a lot of sense. Indeed, their faults (edge softness and vignetting) are sometimes the reason why they are so “good”. But they are not always the best way to go. Sometimes it makes more sense to go for system lenses and not deal with the hassle of adapters and the like. There is also the consideration of which body should be used with these types of lenses.

Using a photoshoot I had given up on in the past, I look at first and foremost why I was so disappointed by the shoot but also, where my vintage lens problems occurred and use these lessons learned to give you advice as to what is best for your shooting needs.
