Most guitar players know where to find a G note, or a C note on one or two places of the fretboard. But what if you wanted to find all of the G and C and A notes on the guitar? That's where octaves come in.
An octave is a complete set of twelve notes, from one note to the same note. For example, If you go from C to the next closest C note, that entire gap is called an octave. Usually an octave is separated by twelve notes.
